The terms I intend to substitute are as follow:
| Japanese term | American term |
| Cybertron | Autobot |
| Destron | Decepticon |
| Planet Seibertron | Cybertron |
The main reason for this is I feel more comfortable with these terms personally, and more to the point, cringe whenever I hear Cybertron referred to as 'Seibertron'.
An enormous rift in space, spreading at an alarming rate, threatens the planet Cybertron. The Autobots prepare to evacuate to another planet before Cybertron is destroyed. An ancient being appears to them and informs them that a legendary force, known as the Planet Force, can stop the spread of the Grand Black Hole. But the Decepticons steal the map which shows the way to the Planet Force. The Autobots are left in a precarious situation: not only must they evacuate Cybertron before it is destroyed, they must somehow prevent the Decepticons from finding the Planet Force--while adapting to life in disguise on the planet Earth.
Transformers: Galaxy Force is, like last year's Superlink, a blend of traditional and CG animation. This time around, Gonzo (Full Metal Panic!, Kiddy Grade) is holding the reins, and the slipshod, often unfinished cel-shaded CG from Superlink has been replaced by smooth, beautiful renders that bring to mind Mainframe's breathtaking Beast Wars series.
Plotwise, there's nothing particularly new here, but seeing as this is a Transformers series, that's about what one expects. Actually, in a way this is a breath of fresh air, because there's a LOT of G1 service here for the oldschool fans, and some nods to the less grating elements of the Micron and Superlink series.
All in all, I highly approve of Galaxy Force, and recommend it greatly to all Transformers fans--dive right in, the water's fine.
Lurker's rating for Transformers: Galaxy Force: 9/10.
Episode One - In which robots disguise themselves and things go BOOM
Episode Two - In which Autobots fight Decepticons, kids fix an Autobot, and one Autobot doesn't quite get the whole "disguise" thing
